Description:

The consultant is expected to prepare a revised hydrology report to develop the new design peak flood complying with ICOLD guidelines and based on updated relevant data. The Consultant is to assess whether the existing gateways are able to handle the design flood discharge under the operation rules regulated by the current international standards. If the existing structure does not have enough capacity for the flood discharge, the Consultant shall propose feasible options to increase discharge capacity. Construction of additional spilling arrangement(s) could be a significant and expensive option; the Consultant should prepare in addition, a risk assessment with existing regulating capacity with suggestions for reducing high risk elements. DABS shall use the Consultant’s results to determine appropriate decisions on future work in consultation with PTAP and World Bank experts.
